Linux Is Inevitable

October 23, 2009 – 9:43 pm

Linux is the future of computing. Computing is now as common as breathing, and like air, it must be free. Community developed software will eventually overshadow corporate developed software. Whatever form computing will evolve into, it springs from the human mind and will shape itself like the human mind, free from the limitations of the decisions of a few and become more and more personalized. I suppose in the future everyone will have their own OS, molding itself to fit the individual’s preferences and style.

Linux is inevitable. It is the future of computing, at least on the philosophical level. FOSS is the path. Microsoft and Apple are two sides of the same coin - they are not freely developed in an open community of users.

It is quite liberating to finally break away from Microsoft and get out of that box. It is akin to a religious experience. You wonder what kept you trapped in that world for so long.
