Mandala art to me is very freestyle, since the classical
Indian Sanskrit language only loosely defines 'mandala' as 'circle'. A
mandala image seems to suggest that you participate actively in the viewing,
to mentally stretch your imagination into the realm of the spiritual.
A circular image can suggest wholeness, a cosmic inclusiveness in the infinite,
even the suggestion that all reality is upheld by a personal God, since
by necessity a mandala expresses the personal uniqueness of the artist.
Surly God, the creator, controller and upholder of the universe of universes
at the very least must be personal, after all, God invented personality.
Eastern religion's view of the world represented by the mandala has begun
to emerge in some Western religious and secular cultures. And, with this
web site, I suggest that the very personal expression of the artist in creating
a unique spiritual vision in the form of a mandala symbolically represents
a personal God that uses all reality as the canvas of his expression of
love. This thought can serve as a meditation for the mandala artist.
My name is Stephen Beam and I have created these 20 mandalas with varying
levels of success. I hope you find something here that you enjoy and that
exercises your spiritual imagination and inspires meditation on the First
Source and Center, the Father of Lights.
On the left is the entire mandala
galleries collection. You can select from this thumbnail gallery
or from the drop down menus on the menu bar.
Reading the images from left to right, as in reading this sentence,
the mandalas are in order from 'mandala 0' to 'mandala 19'.
The mandala art on this site is
created by Stephen Beam and is intended for display on this
web site exclusively. Downloading this art is permitted but
it is for your personal use only and not for public display
in any media form.
