Years ago "Beam's Doorway Books" was called "Local Universe Bookroom", a brick and mortar business located in Brookdale, a small town in the Santa Cruz mountains. Nestled in the tall redwood forest, it was a difficult place to find, but nonetheless many strange visitors would find us and tell tales of Flying saucers, occultism and many other strange "isms" and phenomena. Now the bookstore is on the Internet, with our headquarters in Whittier CA. We are no longer in a dark and mysterious forest, we are in a large town near quite suburban neighborhoods, not the place one would expect to encounter the Art Bell skunk ape, but that is exactly what happened!

An unexpected knock on our headquarters door, I answered, and was greeted by this beast, his tail pointed right at my face. Before I had a chance to slam the door he sprayed me! Geeez!

Now I smell like concentrated rotten eggs, but lucky for you our books and videos don't. They will be shipped to your door clean and fresh as daisies!

And the skunk ape? I zapped him with a laser and he ran off with his tail between his legs.
