Extreme Cases of Gingivitis

December 4, 2008 – 8:33 pm

These are the physical results of having an extreme case of gingivitis:

When gingivitis symptoms are neglected, the teeth may either fall out or may have to be removed due to bacterial infection.  Infected pockets in the gums  surrounding the teeth is the major cause of premature tooth loss. Extreme gingivitis can escalate to chronic periodontal disease.

The good news is gingivitis symptoms are almost always preventable or controllable if simple oral hygiene along with regular dental checkups are followed.

Always reat gingivitis symptoms early to prevent the disease from getting out of control.
