- subject: Real Chupacabra Discovered! 09.01.07 6:30 pm
A lady named Phylis Canion claims to have found the head of a chupacabra. Canion said she saved the head of the one she found so she can get to get to the bottom of its ancestry through DNA testing and then mount it for posterity.
She suspects, as have many rural denizens over the years, that a chupacabra may have killed as many as 26 of her chickens in the past couple of years.
"I've seen a lot of nasty stuff. I've never seen anything like this," she said.
Canion suspects that this was no ugly coyote, but perhaps a real chupacabra because the chickens in her area weren't eaten or carried off but instead all the blood was drained from them.

- subject: Watching Sci-Fi or horror movies with gum disease 08.16.07 9:35 am I'm losing my teeth. Fought it for years. Watching horror movies just isn't the same when you don't have all your teeth. Seriously, if you have bleeding gums please try OraMD. Don't use toothpaste or mouthwash again, only use this stuff. It is working for me. This stuff is truly powerful. Nothing else has worked this good. If I only knew about OraMD when I was younger and had gingivitis I might have a few more teeth in my head today. Don't let your mouth become the scariest horror movie you've ever seen. It isn't healthy. Gum disease has been linked to diabetes, heart disease and other serious illness.
OraMD is all natural plant oils that kill the bacteria in your mouth. It works better than mouthwash and toothpaste. In fact, when you use OraMD you must stop using toothpaste and mouthwash for it to work properly.

-Serenity number 1 subject: TOP 10 Sci Fi movies in the UK according to 24dash.com poll 04.02.07 2:28 pm
TOP 10 Sci Fi movies in the UK according to the website 24dash.com.
Serenity, about the crew of a spaceship of the same name, was a spin-off from a short-lived US TV series called Firefly.
SFX magazine editor Dave Bradley said: "Seeing Serenity topple Star Wars as the UK's favourite sci-fi movie is a massive surprise.
"The TV show may have been cancelled, yet the Serenity universe clearly struck a chord with fans, thanks to its likeable characters, witty dialogue and amazing special effects.
"Our list features some really classic movies, many of which, like Serenity, launched to no praise or applause at the box office, but have lived on for many years thanks to the fans, and continue to influence today's films and TV."
:: The Top Ten:
1. Serenity (2005)
2. Star Wars
3. Blade Runner
4. Planet of the Apes
5. The Matrix
6. Alien
7. Forbidden Planet
8. 2001: A Space Odyssey
9. The Terminator

-FireFly subject: The good ol days in the Verse... 03.20.07 9:01 pm
I remember the good old days in the verse when reality shows were barely alive and we, or at least some of us cultured few loved FireFly, the biggest damn show to hit television.
Loved the way it was silent in the black, as science says it ought to be. Serenity's engines firing up so quiet, moving out into the edge of space, the wild frontier where a man was free of the Alliance.

- subject: Whitley Strieber and the Grays 08.26.06 10:28 am I can't figure Whitley Strieber out. At one time I thought I had him pegged when he wrote Communion. I figured him for a poor soul that went semi-insane and believed his delusions. I am now beginning to think he is childlike and living in a make-believe world. And while he knows it is make-believe, he still wants to be honest and retain some integrity. Whatever the real nature of his character, he has a great imagination that will stimulate your imagination.
Listen to Whitley closely and parse his words next time he is on Art Bell.
You go figure him out.

-Furry time traveling alien subject: Furry time traveling 'lobster' 03.08.06 10:24 pm
You might have seen this strange creature in the news. Here is the supposed story:
A US-led team found the animal last year in waters 2,300m (7,540ft) deep at a site 1,500km (900 miles) south of Easter Island, an expert has claimed.
The lobster's pincers are covered with sinuous, hair-like strands. It seems to reside around some Pacific deep sea hydrothermal vents, which spew out fluids that are toxic to many animals.
Here is the truth. It is actually an intelligent, sentient being from the far future that swirled thru a rift between dimensions, ended up materializing in, of all places, a seafood restaurant lobster tank. No one picked it out for their main course, it was just too bizarre a creature to be appetizing.
We have it now. It answers our questions using a series of pincer clicks. I call it ‘it’ but like I said, it is a human… strange, alien, but none-the-less, a being able to exercise moral choice.

-Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane subject: The Ninth Configuration 03.08.06 2:23 pm "The Ninth Configuration" on DVD
"The Ninth Configuration", or "Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane" - the same movie by a different name - asks a very big question in a surreal way... does God exist, and if so why does he allow suffering?
William Peter Blatty, author of "The Exorcist" writes and directs this truly great and somewhat obscure movie.
Here is a review from a fan of the movie:
The movie boasts a veritable menagerie of crazy characters, all brought vividly to life by a stellar supporting cast. One patient is preparing a production of Shakespeare with an all-dog cast. Another is convinced he's Superman, and the resident doctor can't seem to find his trousers. But there's a method to this madness, and it takes a barroom brawl--one of the most memorable in movie history--to provide the harsh slap of reality to Blatty's elaborate group therapy scheme. When the true purpose of The Ninth Configuration is revealed, the film (and particularly the fine performances of Keach and Wilson) reveals a depth of compassionate sanity that may take you completely by surprise. --Jeff Shannon

I'll build a new website just for these Mandalas and, without shame, attempt to sell you mandala books. You will buy them, won't you?
One of my mandalas is published in a mandala book by Bailey Cunningham.

-HORROR BOOKS subject: The Historian - new Dracula legend 10.23.05 9:58 am The Historian is getting rave reviews. Here is what one reader says:
If your pulse flutters at the thought of castle ruins and descents into crypts by moonlight, you will savor every creepy page of Elizabeth Kostova's long but beautifully structured thriller The Historian. The story opens in Amsterdam in 1972, when a teenage girl discovers a medieval book and a cache of yellowed letters in her diplomat father's library. The pages of the book are empty except for a woodcut of a dragon. The letters are addressed to: "My dear and unfortunate successor." When the girl confronts her father, he reluctantly confesses an unsettling story: his involvement, twenty years earlier, in a search for his graduate school mentor, who disappeared from his office only moments after confiding to Paul his certainty that Dracula--Vlad the Impaler, an inventively cruel ruler of Wallachia in the mid-15th century--was still alive. The story turns out to concern our narrator directly because Paul's collaborator in the search was a fellow student named Helen Rossi (the unacknowledged daughter of his mentor) and our narrator's long-dead mother, about whom she knows almost nothing. And then her father, leaving just a note, disappears also.
As well as numerous settings, both in and out of the East Bloc, Kostova has three basic story lines to keep straight--one from 1930, when Professor Bartolomew Rossi begins his dangerous research into Dracula, one from 1950, when Professor Rossi's student Paul takes up the scent, and the main narrative from 1972. The criss-crossing story lines mirror the political advances, retreats, triumphs, and losses that shaped Dracula's beleaguered homeland--sometimes with the Byzantines on top, sometimes the Ottomans, sometimes the rag-tag local tribes, or the Orthodox church, and sometimes a fresh conqueror like the Soviet Union.
Although the book is appropriately suspenseful and a delight to read--even the minor characters are distinctive and vividly seen--its most powerful moments are those that describe real horrors. Our narrator recalls that after reading descriptions of Vlad burning young boys or impaling "a large family," she tried to forget the words: "For all his attention to my historical education, my father had neglected to tell me this: history's terrible moments were real. I understand now, decades later, that he could never have told me. Only history itself can convince you of such a truth." The reader, although given a satisfying ending, gets a strong enough dose of European history to temper the usual comforts of the closing words. --Regina Marler

-WEIRD PHOTO subject: Celestial Being or Quirk? 10.23.05 12:13 am
Is this an angel or some celestial being caught on a digital camera or is it a strange quirk of digital technology? I would like to think it is an angel and be in amazement but I have big doubts. I wrote the photographer and carried on an e-mail conversation with him for a while. The man swears it is an angel that certain photographic equipment is able to capture.

-Beam subject: Manufactured Homes 04.13.05 6:28 pm Yes, Beam's Doorway is actually just that, a doorway to many subjects and sites, not only science fiction, fantasy and horror books, movies and wallpaper. As I am revealing on this blog there are many folders in the root directory of 'beamsdoorway.bizland.com' and there are many subfolders in the large 'spacefilter' folder that contains the spacefilter flash navigation resource and web hosting web site.
One of the root directory folders is called 'home'. Here is the link. I live in a Hallmark home and like it and wanted to share the information regarding manufactured homes to my website visitors that desire an economical place to live. I live on the border of Orange County and Los Angeles County - not a cheap area to live in, but by buying a comfortable manufactured home I am able to live in Southern California...barely...but I am able to manage.
If you are moving to Southern California from out of state, check out the homes link. If you want to contact a sales person from where I bought my home, a form is on the webpage for you to use. If you use the form on my site, it will tell the sales person that I recommended you.

-Beam subject: VIDEO GAMES 03.23.05 9:47 pm I was in the video game industry for about 10 years. I worked on lots of games. I freelanced for 4 of those years and worked for Interplay in Irvine for 6 years. I was a senior artist in the strategy division of the company. This division changed names a few times. It was called Flat Cat, then 14 Degrees East. Interplay has gone under now, I was caught in one of the waves of layoffs before the company folded.

-Beam subject: Santa Cruz Mystery Spot 02.21.05 9:40 pm
When I lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the town of Brookdale, I used to love visiting the Mystery Spot. It is truly odd and fascinating. Some strange force seems to distort light and play with gravity. Insects and small animals will not enter the vortex of the Mystery Spot. Trees grow in strange spiral shapes. Aircraft flying overhead know of the Mystery Spots affect on the plane's instruments.
What is this force that plays with light as easily as a child plays with sand in a sand box? Is a flying saucer buried in the forest? For you Urantia Book readers, would you speculate this is a location of a power center? That is what I think it is.
